Programs for creating businesses
The main pillars of the Youth Enterprise Support Society (YESS) are student startup competitions, Spin-off Club events, company and factory visits, conferences, and research projects. These activities allow young people to learn about and try their hand at the startup ecosystem and gain a real professional network. YESS offers programs and creates inspiring spaces where student ideas can turn into promising businesses. Check out our recent and past projects, competitions, and events.
Upcoming and Recent Events, News
The Danube Cup is an international startup competition for university students, organised jointly by leading higher education institutions in countries along the Danube River with the professional support of YESS.
The Danube Cup Conference is a prestigious international scientific event offering an inspiring meeting opportunity for educators, researchers, and professionals working in the fields of entrepreneurship research, entrepreneurial education, and startup innovation.
As part of the Spin-off Club, we aim to inspire and educate budding entrepreneurs and young people about starting a business through personal events, workshops and online content.
YESS was established in 2009 by lecturers at the Small Business Development Centre of Corvinus University of Budapest. Our main goal is to encourage and support startup activity among young people, spread and raise entrepreneurial culture, and educate young entrepreneurs.

Key Activities
Spin-off Club – A meeting place for young entrepreneurs
The club aims to promote entrepreneurial culture and knowledge, and to increase interest in starting a business among young people in Budapest. Based on this idea, we established and operate the inter-university Spin-off Club. Participation in the club's events is free of charge, where we teach entrepreneurial skills through roundtable discussions and lectures organised with successful entrepreneurs, allowing participants to learn directly from the experiences of entrepreneurs and build valuable relationships.
Pitch and case study competitions for students
Through our competitions, we aim to discover and support diverse teams of young people whom we can assist professionally through mentoring, financing, and networking at various competitions. We shape and develop our long-standing competitions year after year, from the business idea phase to validation. From individuals without a team or expertise to well-established student teams, everyone can find the right level of competition to help them (such as the Danube Cup International Startup Competition or the pitch and case study competitions supported by the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry).
